Daily Rituals and Wordle

Match 3 Daily isn't a word game. But if you play games like Wordle or other 'daily ritual' puzzle games, you’ll probably recognize where the inspiration for the experience comes from. The idea for Match 3 Daily started forming after discovering Clues by Sam, a clever brain teaser where you determine whether cheerful-looking civilians are “guilty” or “innocent." I'd been looking for a new project after investing a lot of my free time into my first (still unfinished) game ZOMBETES, and I wanted something smaller in scope.

Before that, I had prototyped a match-3 style board-clearing game in Godot but never developed it beyond a basic concept. When I started thinking about what I could contribute to the growing “daily puzzle” format, that prototype immediately came back to mind.

What I like about daily ritual games is their accessibility. They’re quick to pick up, you can play them on your phone or computer, and there’s no filler or noise. Just a small, contained puzzle designed to give you a short burst of logic and problem solving each day.

And so that became the foundation for Match 3 Daily: a free daily match-3 puzzle you can play instantly in your browser. I'm still iterating on some of the backend elements and statistics, but the core experience is there, with already over a month's worth of archived puzzles you can play, no sign-up required.
