Streaks and Works in Progress

In the top right of the puzzle board, you will now see a 'Streak' value. It increments when you complete current-day boards consecutively (archived puzzles not included). If you miss a day, it resets to 0. For now it's just a counter, but I'm planning on adding more user-based statistics that would include your highest streak.

The UI is straightforward:
-> Yellow icon if you need to complete today's puzzle to continue an active streak.
-> Green icon if you already completed today's puzzle.

I might make the 'Streak' element clickable, which would then open a small widget that tells this information more explicitly. This would just be for curious players though. There are no flashing red lights or alarm bells ringing if your streak is at risk of ending.

I want to be transparent about monetization plans for the game. I make games because I have fun doing it, but obviously I would be happy if they could bring in supplementary income. To that end, I have been in the process of trying to get Google Ad Sense approved so that I can start serving ads. I'm planning on having these primarily in the game over/cleared screens. Signed-in users could pay a small fee of $3 to remove ads from their experience entirely.

Archived puzzles will eventually be locked behind a one-time payment or subscription fee. Once activated, any user that has signed in before a certain date will have extended access to that feature with no charge. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I will be clear about when any of this is set in motion, so if you're interested you can sign in beforehand.

Match 3 Daily is still a work in progress. I've locked into the core experience, but some elements like difficulty and statistics are subject to change. There will be some monetization elements eventually, but the main daily puzzle will always be free. I started making this because I thought it would be fun to play myself. I personally love match block games like Tetris Attack, Bust-A-Move, Puyo Puyo, and Zuma. These are all action-puzzlers but they often have puzzle modes which essentially have the same goal as Match 3 Daily. I think it's a pretty neat little game; I've been playing it on the metro ride into work, and for me it's starting to click.

So that’s the current state of the project. Give it a try, and if you have any feedback you can reach me through the contact page.
